3 years ago I brought my employees here. We're all people of color in a southern restaurant so its a 50/50 how we will be received...Luckily it was with love. Smoked then fried is how the wings were described. Say no more, we will take a couple dozen. Collard greens were among the best I've had in my life. Smoked meats were perfectly executed...I don't know if something has changed but on our way out the sweetest meemaw offered to throw some cookies in the oven to show a little appreciation for such a large party. That action stayed with me...of course they were great. I hope she's still in good health. The recent reviews have me concerned, for this isn't the place I once knew. Back in town soon and something tells me it'll be just as good. I have faith in this place..as broward residents we all should maintain such in our family-owned establishments.

What we ordered: 2-3 wings + ribs w/2 sides: Mango bbq wings: 6/10; texture was strange, but the flavor was okay Tangy bbq wings: 7/10; off texture, decent flavor Ribs: standard sweet bbq: 8/10; the flavor was good; the amount of near couldve been better Collard greens: 0/10; I’ve never seen brownish/black collard greens swimming in what looked like grease in my life Green beans: 0/10; we were told they are well seasoned when we Inquired about them but there was no salt to taste and they had a very fresh-water taste Baked beans: 7/10; a little too sweet Mac n cheese: 5/10; looked and tasted like some version of easy mac. Texas toast: 3/10; severly burnt on one side The cashier was very kind and was very willing to answer any questions we had, the food just did not live up to our expectations.

Very disappointed, they have a great atmosphere with nice decorations. Multiple sauces on the table etc. Everything you want to see. 25 minutes later a tray of tragedy came out. And the server who was very nice and polite already knew we weren't having a great time as words were exchanged with the kitchen "whats going on with this table" Anyway its not the servers fault. Bad on the chef to even serve us what they did. Reheated ribs and dipped brisket that was sliced so thin it just crumbled trying to fork it. TBO I dont think this is what are serving all the time. but clearly they either dont care or just need to sell old stuff and whoever draws the short straw gets it. One and done, wouldn't go back.

I had the full rack of barbecued ribs and fried okra, honestly cannot say it was good, the ribs were way too dry and seemed to have been sitting in the kitchen for a customer to swing by and eat it because it tasted a little stale and afterwards the good did not make me feel well. The only thing that seemed good was the friendly kind staff and the excellent beer.

Highly recommend!!!! Been twice now. Rebecca the bartender is AMAZING. Staff is great! Margaritas are made perfect and are sooooo inexpensive!! Food isnt gourmet, but its delicious, feel-good diner/bar food. Great place to chill, relax play darts, chill sit at the bar...whatever. Great spot not far off I-95. Been twice now and will keep coming back!!!
